Visit of Mayor’s Office of Bussy-Saint-Georges

27 June 2025
In June, BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir, Paris, was pleased to welcome representatives from the Mayor’s Office of Bussy-Saint-Georges to the visitor marquee at the Mandir site. The visit provided an opportunity to share the vision of the upcoming Mandir and to highlight the spiritual, cultural, and humanitarian activities of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) both in France and around the world.

Delegates from several departments of the Mayor’s Office attended, reflecting the ongoing collaboration between the local community and the Mandir project.

Upon arrival, guests were welcomed by BAPS volunteers and introduced to the significance of the Mandir through a presentation and a video highlighting its recent development.

Volunteers then guided the delegation through the exhibition displays inside the visitor marquee, offering an overview of BAPS as a socio-spiritual fellowship grounded in Hindu values, its global humanitarian initiatives in areas such as education, health care, environmental projects, and disaster relief, as well as activities currently taking place in France, and the cultural and architectural vision of the upcoming Mandir.

The delegation then shared a traditional Indian lunch prepared by volunteers, offering an opportunity for informal conversation and further cultural exchange in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Attendees shared warm reflections on their experience. Laetitia Pautrat, Deputy Head of Municipal Police, noted, “Your culture is very beautiful. I was truly delighted. I believe you will bring a lot of cheer, joy and goodwill to the town.”

Cédric Tartaud-Gineste, the Mayor’s Chief of Staff, added, “This Mandir extends the cultural and spiritual vision that Bussy-Saint-Georges is invested in through the Esplanade of Religions and Cultures.”

Mayor Yann Dubosc also addressed the gathering, expressing appreciation for the initiative and the positive contribution the Mandir will bring to Bussy-Saint-Georges. He acknowledged the role of BAPS in promoting harmony and cultural understanding and conveyed the support of the Mayor’s Office for projects that strengthen community cohesion.

The visiting officials expressed their anticipation for the cultural festival that will celebrate the opening of the Mandir in September 2026, recognising how significant this event will be for the Parisian commune of Bussy-Saint-Georges and its vision of fostering intercultural and interfaith harmony.
