Who can attend?
The Palkhi Yatra is exclusively for mahilas (females).
Is there a cost?
No, the Palkhi Yatra is free for all to attend.
Do I need to register to take part in the Yatra?
Yes, registration via the myBAPS portal is required.
What is the dress code?
Traditional Indian attire (saris / chania choli / Punjabis) is highly encouraged.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Check the weather on the day and be prepared for the weather conditions.
We advise you not to wear expensive jewellery to the Palkhi Yatra. If you do so, it will be at your own risk.
Is food provided?
Dinner will be provided at the Festival Grounds after the end of the yatra.
Will transport be provided?
Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to the starting point and from the ending point.
Are there any bathroom facilities on the route?
Yes, there is a toilet facility along the route of the yatra and at the Festival Grounds.
Do I need to register for Paris Mandir Mahotsav to take part in the Palkhi Yatra?
Yes, all participants must register for Paris Mandir Mahotsav first.
If you have not yet registered for Paris Mandir Mahotsav, please do so first. Please ensure that all your guests are also registered for the Mahotsav. This is Step 1.
If your family member has a UK Satsangi ID, they can register themselves on myBAPS.
If your family member does not have a UK Satsangi ID, they can register themselves after creating a myBAPS login ID, or they can be added as a guest under the primary yajman’s booking.
Only after completing Step 1, will you be able to register for specific events, such as the Palkhi Yatra, which is Step 2.
Can wheelchair or pram users also participate?
Yes, but please bear in mind the length of the yatra and that the path/road along the route may not always be level.
For anyone with special requirements, there is the option to observe the Palkhi Yatra from designated pointsalong the route. Please email info@bapsmandirparis.fr with your request.
Can children and elderly family members take part?
Yes, children and elderly participants are welcome, provided they are registered.
Parents/guardians must supervise children throughout the procession, especially near the lake.
Elderly participants must also be registered as either participants or observers. If a carer is required, both the individual and the carer must register.
What if I arrive late?
Late arrivals are welcome, but we highly recommend arriving on time to ensure you do not miss registration and walking within your zone. If the procession has already started, you will be asked to join the final zone or participate as an observer.
